New Roper Wallet completed

Here is a wallet that I just finished to honor my friendship with Big Papa Leather.   I don't normally do projects like this but I couldn't pass up this awesome looking leather I found.  Everything is hand made including the interiors, stitching and lacing.

  1. I like the "wear" on the outside of this wallet!! On these biker style wallets what ounce leather do you usually use on the outside and inside? Also, is the inside a petite or regular veg tan? Thanks!!!!

  2. In this wallet I used some pull up leather that came distressed like this....looks great huh! The interior is Hermann-Oak veg-tan leather. The exterior is graded at a 5-6 oz and the interior is a 2-3 oz leather.

  3. Yeah that natural distress is good! Came across some old leather like that from S. America but a little to small for anything besides a keyfob.. Is this usually the interior/exterior leather ounce combo you usually use on this style biker wallet?

  5. The weight of my leather for wallets vary. Since rarely sell my work, I feel that anything will work. As the backing, I did not use any lining material on this project, but I have used a thin leathers as lining material.

  6. I've used a 6-7oz for the exterior and a petite 2-3oz for the interior which seams to be okay for a biker style wallet. It's a little stiff but the EVOO tip you gave me should soften it up a pretty good amount.
